Hey, I'm Rebecca.
In 2012 I was two years in to working at a clinic for an administration that took a large portion of the income I brought into it. I won a contest 2 days before I was set to go on vacation, and my 2 week vacation became 5 weeks with minimal notice. Due to the circumstances, the owners were enthusiastic about the cross-Canada train trip experience I was going to get to have and told me I *HAD* to go. The administration staff, however, had been holding it over my head for 18 months.
Finally, over the phone on a September day, when she started trying to hold it over my head for the umteenth time, I told the main administrator the conversation was unnecessary as I was leaving the clinic in January.
This was the first I was hearing about this plan.
Where was I going to go? Were my clients going to follow me? I was steadily busy at that clinic, but didn't feel like they respected the level of client care I gave and ultimately only cared about how much money I could make them. Was this a crazy idea?
It was, but some of the best ideas are.
I left that clinic with 87 clients who asked to follow me. Within a year I had just over 200 people on my client list. At 3 years that number was well over 500. A decade later, and almost all of my current clients were in that 500+; I consistently have a waitlist; I can essentially work as much as I would like to and have clients to fill the time.
With a client list that size, I rarely have empty space in the hours I wanted to work, and I rarely take on new clients. In fact, I keep a waitlist of new clients who are hoping to be able to book in, as well.
Depending on your type of practice, not every client is going to be a repeat, and not every client is going to come in regularly for maintenance. Some of my current clients may only come in 2-5 times per year as they feel they need to. The common thread regardless of treatment schedule - they maintain their quality of life even with gaps that big. But we'll touch on that later in the course.
I'm so glad you've taken this step to grow your practice, and I hope the information in the following lectures helps you increase your clientele and create a sustainable practice. If you have questions about course content, or want to book a mentorship call, please get in touch. Otherwise - enjoy, and good luck!
